| 18 December 2008 | Eliminating Discrimination Against Women The Australian Government has lodged its latest report to the United Nations on its implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. The Hon Tanya Plibersek, Minister for the Status of Women launched the CEDAW report and an education pack - Women’s Human Rights, on 18 December 2008. The education pack is a partnership between the Office for Women and Australian Human Rights Commission. |
| 10 December 2008 | A report from the recent National Rural Women's Summit featuring over 100 recommendations and a communiqué is now available. The Summit brought together 82 women from rural, regional, remote areas including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and women with disabilities to discuss the issues faced by rural women in Australia today. |
