Women in Export Trade Event

On 24 June 2007 Austrade held a Women in Export Trade Day as the lead-in event to the 12th APEC Women Leaders’ Network meeting. The event, run in partnership with the Australian Government Office for Women, attracted a capacity attendance of 170 and provided an unparalleled occasion for businesswomen to network with experienced Australian exporters, other local businesswomen and international delegates from the APEC region.

Throughout the day, Australian experts moderated panels and workshops with successful local exporters and international attendees on how to:

• negotiate the practical steps to exporting
• use e-business and online technologies to enhance export success
• develop a business model to export services
• master cross-cultural communication and negotiation.

The day culminated in a mini trade show of local Australian exporters.
